Risk Exploiting

Exploiting is a response strategy for a positive risk (an opportunity) where the team acts to make sure the opportunity is realised – removing the uncertainty so the benefit definitely occurs. It is the opportunity counterpart of avoiding a threat.

For example, assigning the most talented people to a task to finish early, or adopting new technology to cut cost, are ways of exploiting an opportunity. It is the most aggressive of the opportunity strategies, used when the upside is important enough to secure.
