What Is a Task Board?
A task board is a visual representation of the progress of planned work that allows everyone to see the status of tasks at a glance. Work items move across columns — for example To Do, In Progress and Done — as they advance.
In Practice
Task boards make work visible, expose bottlenecks and support daily coordination. Physical boards use sticky notes; digital boards do the same in tools. Columns can be tailored to the team’s workflow, and limiting work in progress per column turns a simple task board into a Kanban board.
